The Tower Tarot | The Transformation

When The Tower card appears, prepare to transform any long-standing problems and issues that have been in your life. At some point in our lives, many of us come to realise that many of our own personal problems have their roots in the way that a society, a community or a country or a government functions.

When the Tower card appears, be prepared to be freed from the structures and restrictions that your community and your society has placed upon you. After all, many of the problems and issues that we face–or have faced in the past–are not the product of our personal deficits but a result of systematic societal injustices, prejudices and biases. The more experienced we become, the more we come to realise that many of the problems that we face have their roots in one of history’s very many pages.

Old structures, old systems and old ways of doing things are symbolised by the Tower card. On a very basic level, it comes to make us realise that if the system that we have in place is broken, it’s the system that needs to be changed. To change the system requires a willingness to change. Most systems, however, are resilient against change. Therefore, the Tower card appears to warn us that we must, sometimes, force the change upon the system, especially if it begins to harm instead of heal.

TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE

When this card appears, it comes to warn you and make you realise that the community that did not support you in the past is not going to support you now either. Why? Because the community as a whole hasn’t changed its belief system. Even though you may have left and gained much needed exposure out in the world, the place you left behind may be stuck in its ways, unwilling to even make the slightest accommodation to change what is so rotten about it.

On some level, they do sincerely fear the person who is hoping to change things. This card could signal the presence of an activist in your life. Someone who knows that in order to enact change, the system itself needs a complete overhaul. This is the card of revolts and revolutions. This is the energy of something undergoing a major change that is irreversible.

Your life is destined to change forever for whatever created this problem will not be permitted to recreate itself. Change is inevitable when the Tower card appears. It will be a change that is impossible to avoid and may even feel shocking at the time. It could be an upcoming disaster or even sudden wealth and fame which one just simply did not see coming.

Expect a pleasant surprise or perhaps even a shocking one!

LIGHTNING

What you have built–or are in the process of building–will now have to change. If you choose to stay the same, however, you will only make the change more painful for yourself. It is best if you make the changes that the Universe is asking you to make. In the past, people believed Natural Disasters and calamities to be brought about by the hand of god. But are they? Or are they merely natural phenomena which indicate that we had no choice but to change?

The crown in The Tower card is symbolic of the Crown Chakra. Disturbances in thinking or even complete enlightenment could be on the cards when The Tower appears. If you find yourself in possession of excess psychic energy, try to ground yourself by doing and being more active in the world. Ensure, also, that you get sufficient sleep. This is not the time to resist change, but to embrace it.

I’ve found that The Tower card often appears when a long-standing relationship that has been on the rocks for a while suddenly collapses. The relationship was probably a problematic one and there was, most likely, one person who consistently created problems for the other person. When The Tower card appears, it reminds us that neither we–nor someone else–is duty bound to be there for us if it’s to their own detriment.

The Tower reminds us that nothing in this world is built to last forever.
