Lately, I’ve been doing something I haven’t done in a while. I’m paying close attention to menswear. There was a time when I did that. I actually like shopping for men. I find it far easier than shopping for women. On average, men do like it when wives/girlfriends/mothers (ahem at the last one), shop for them on their behalf.
When it comes to attire for men, I find that it’s helpful to make suggestions regarding what he might like, but may feel afraid to try.

I remember a few years ago, I managed to convince a gentleman to purchase a black watch with hot pink details. It wasn’t a hot pink watch. It was a black watch with a few details in hot pink. He couldn’t believe I had convinced him to buy that. Actually, I hadn’t done anything. I had asked him to try it on and voila, he bought it all by himself.
Today, as I was walked through my city’s shopping district, I found a shirt that I absolutely loved. It’s good old grey, but what made it really stand out in my eyes were the details.
There were little storks on it, but you wouldn’t notice it until you came close. There was just enough pink, but not too much of it. This is exactly the kind of shirt that I would recommend to the gentleman who wanted to stick to his ‘regular’ colour palette, but was adventurous enough to step outside the box.
This is a shirt I would love to give as a gift to a brother, a significant other, a father or any other important male in one’s life. I am a big believer in the importance of symbology and to me, the stork is a strong symbol of fatherhood.
All hail the stork shirt by Xacus.
