The Knight of Wands represents an individual that is full of curiosity. They are not satisfied with the tried-and-tested way of doing things. The root cause of this restlessness is that their intuition is ordinarily very strong. They are capable of making spontaneous decisions that others would still be contemplating upon. They know that the only way to live life fully, truly and well is by living it in an unexpected way.

One way in which the Knight of Wands gets blind-sided is that he sometimes does not realise that it is not always ideal–or in his best interests–to make a hasty decision just because an opportunity has presented itself. But then again, knowing this Knight, it is not beyond him to reverse a decision that he’s made just as quickly as he made it. He may be in love with you today, but who in the world knows about tomorrow… Not him, that’s for sure.

The fire died, went out… or he simply found something or someone that he was even more passionate about. When he sees an old flame again, he may remember or even realise that while he did love that person, they just weren’t the One.

Relationships

I’ve found that the Knight of Wands tends to show up a lot in a relationship reading. As an individual, it usually represents someone who is a free spirit that does not want to get bogged down, even if he does have sincere feelings for you. He is just not the type of person who wants to make a commitment. He would rather play the field and see what else is out there.

It will take this Knight a long long time to realise that a commitment can, in certain circumstances, be far more valuable than just chasing and running after each curiosity that shows up in front of him. Are you really still excited by all of this? Haven’t you been there and done that?

The Knight of Wands, in many cases, represents a separation (see Judgement Archetype) and not a commitment. He will be there for a little while, but he is not the sort of guy or gal who really wants to make a commitment to settle down, have children and be there in a way that is traditional and conventional.

If you find yourself in a relationship with a Knight of Wands, they may be super enthusiastic about the relationship, but do not try to tie them down. This is a commitment-phobic individual who is very resistant to making a commitment. The truth is: a commitment is not what this person is looking for (see Hierophant). It will take them a long time to realise the value of a commitment.

Heck, who knows, it may even take lifetimes!

The Lost Soul

We’ve all known people like this. They come, they spend time with us, they even enjoy our company… but if you ask them to settle down, they will disappear and leave you hanging. That is not to say that an individual like that is unable to commit. They can make a commitment, but it will not be easy for them to do so. They will have to overcome a lot of inner resistance before they can finally say… YES.

When this knight appears, he usually asks that you take a risk. Ask someone out, but don’t do it in a half-hearted sort of way. Set up a romantic evening and make it happen. Share yourself with the world in a way that is sincere, frank, honest and candid. Do not hold yourself back from something–or even someone–that you are interested in. Go for it. The Universe has your back.

Are you going to say YES to such an individual? Well, my advice is: if you know that a commitment is what you’re after, then… do not, under any circumstances, say YES. But if all you want to do is have a bit of fun, then, by all means, indulge in the experience. But you will have no one but yourself to blame if you end up getting hurt.

The Knight of Wands represents someone who is feeling lost. He has been searching for a while, but he has not found what he has been looking for. He is struggling to find a situation that is suited to his temperament and his way of thinking and looking at the world. As he is a Knight, there is still hope that he can change his ways.

Once he understands the value of how important our commitments actually are, he will finally find what he is looking for.
