It didn’t hit me immediately. But after around three years, it began to dawn on me that this was not the path I was meant to be on. I was meant to change direction, but I had no idea what to do next. The decision I had made had absolutely no long-term potential. So as much as I wanted–or even thought–that I should jump ship, I was not immediately able to do so.
Sometimes in life, we are fortunate that the change is made for us on our behalf. Sometimes, we are the ones who have to create that change for ourselves. We simply have to completely stop doing something that we had been doing. This path is not so much about abandonment–as in, renouncing something or giving something up completely–it is about putting the brakes on something you’ve been doing.
Yes, you’ve come so far… But can’t you see that you can go no further?

Dead End
When the Ten of Swords appears, it represents arriving at a dead end. When you started walking this road, you could not have known that it would not have taken you to your destination. But yet, your journey began, culminating in this very moment that is, for all intents and purposes, a dead end.
The time has come to stop.
If we can identify and acknowledge that we were walking on a path that was not suited to us, things will, indeed, become better. If we are not able to acknowledge that we can go no further, we will be unable to reorient ourselves. In some cases, the Ten of Swords may represent a complete and utter disaster. In other cases, it just represents one’s own inner realisation that ‘this’ is a dead end.
For better or for worse, the Ten of Swords comes into our life to denote that you are investing in or have invested in a lost cause. If you stay on the path that you are on, no one will be able to help you. But if you take even the smallest steps to reorient yourself, the Universe will nudge you in the right direction and help you to find a new journey.
The Ten of Swords can signal the presence of an ending that cannot be avoided. It has been a long time coming and it is the result of a long drawn out series of events. It is time to admit that you have reached a dead end. You must start to release and let go of all that you have unnecessarily taken on.

Even though what transpired was truly traumatic, all the players involved will be held to account in their own way. The key lesson here can be one of forgiveness, but only if you allow it to be. If you continue to invest in a dead end situation, you will only have yourself to blame when you finally realise that this is just not the journey that you are meant to be on.
The exit strategy to escape from the rut you are in will be presented to you. All you have to do is seize the opportunity to get yourself out. Sometimes, we find ourselves ‘trapped’ in a cycle of negativity and we don’t even know how it happened. But changes are coming. Healing is on its way.
As part of your recovery journey, you will have to forgive the people who have hurt you. Do the shadow work necessary to release resentment, vengeance and so on. Do not go down with the ship and do not lose perspective due to the pain that you are in. Faith and hope are what endure. Trials and tribulations come, but they also pass, no matter how traumatic they are in the moment.
Beneath that dead end is the sense that we are carrying within ourselves, unfulfilled dreams which are yet to be realised. Perhaps you can see this inevitable loss as a way to begin pursuing a dream that was once dashed…
Ask God, the Angels and the Divine Beings for guidance. They will not let you down.
