The Knight of Cups | The Dream Guy

When the Knight of Cups appears, the time has come to fully follow your heart. Take a risk. Tell the person whom you love how they make your heart flutter. Perhaps the moment will, indeed, be short-lived. Perhaps the other person may not even reciprocate. But trust me when I say that you will live to regret it if you never tell the person you love how they make you feel. When the Knight of Cups appears, know that love will not come knocking on your door. You will have to be the one to go for it!

The Knight of Cups is a romantic. He or She (although I will generally use the pronoun He) will not hesitate to follow his heart, even if he has gotten hurt a gazillion times. Somewhere deep down, he truly does think that the next time around, he will definitely meet the One that he has dreamt of all his life. While the Knight of Cups can represent a musician, an author, an artist, a teacher or even a counsellor, I’ve found that the Knight of Cups mostly comes up when one begins to feel something that they never thought they would feel.

The Knight of Cups appears to indicate that a new emotional journey is on the horizon… All you have to do is follow your heart and let love guide the way.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS

The Knight of Cups is an excellent omen if you are single. I hesitate to say this but the Knight of Cups is generally not a good omen if you are already in a committed relationship. If you are, indeed, single; the Knight of Cups can indicate that you will soon meet someone who is unlike anyone whom you have ever known and who will make their way into your heart.

If you are not single and are in a committed relationship, the Knight of Cups can indicate that someone will come into your life who you will feel incredibly attracted to. They will be a force of nature and you will not be able to resist that person. You two may be attracted to one another because you have some healing to do, but beyond that, the relationship may not last.

If you are, indeed, in a committed relationship, be mindful of the risks involved if you choose to become attached to this individual. If someone is inspiring feelings in you that you have not felt before, ask yourself why you feel attracted to that person. More often than not, that attraction is present because both parties have some healing to do. Is there an unresolved emotional trauma (see The Moon) from the past still lingering in your mind? The Knight of Cups can come up to bring it from your subconscious mind into the conscious mind.

Healing from past wounds–be it because of a parent, an old lover or even a sibling–is not something that happens overnight. It will, indeed, take time. Ask yourself why the Universe sent this particular person to heal you. The answer may well surprise you.

At the end of the day, The Knight of Cups will not settle being ‘second’ as they are looking for a soul mate relationship. Even if you do end up dating them for a while, they are looking to settle and are not interested in playing the field for longer than they need to. If the Knight of Cups feel that his partner is not interested in making a long-term commitment, he will, indeed, move on. He may even leave you for someone else.

The ROMANTIC

The court cards, when they show up in a reading, represent a person who is either already present in your life or someone who will soon come into your life. Knights generally represent a man or woman of action. They are on a mission and on a quest and will not stop trying till they make it!

The Knight of Cups usually represents a charming adult that is unmarried. He is emotional, romantic, gentle and yet, remarkably resilient. You may think them to be gullible, but they are more than capable of weathering any storm for they truly believe that love is what makes life worth living. Do not mistake their kindness for naivety for they can become withdrawn if their love is not reciprocated. After all, what they want is to love and be loved!

When the Knight of Cups appears, expect to be swept off your feet by someone who is warm, incredibly tactful and who is a lover and not a fighter. You can (and you definitely should) be cautious for such an individual is very likely to make their way into your heart without you realising. While the Knight of Cups is, indeed, a crowd favourite in a love tarot reading, I personally wouldn’t be so optimistic when it shows up.

It sometimes shows up to indicate that a committed relationship is over. It can also indicate the presence of a romantic relationship that does not, ultimately, work out. Part of the reason could be due to either drug or alcohol abuse. It can even indicate that you will fall in love with someone who will not reciprocate your feelings.

The Knight of Cups can indicate the presence of someone who can become obsessive when love is not returned. They will do anything it takes to keep the object of their desire and can turn bitter and become controlling when the other person does not reciprocate. The advise here is to avoid staying in relationships where you do not receive the love that you desire. Perhaps there is, indeed, someone more suited to you out there…

CAREER

Whenever the Knight of Cups comes into your life, he reminds us that we should enjoy ourselves at work doing what we love. When it comes to career, the Knight of Cups indicates that you will soon receive an unexpected offer from someone who loved your work. Love is usually on the cards and in the air when the Knight of Cups appears. Love is, indeed, his religion.

The Knight of Cups is not one for office politics. He will handle all problems with complete tact and diplomacy. I’ve found that the Knight of Cups is almost always an indicator of someone who works in a creative or artistic field. It usually indicates that you–or your partner–will excel in these disciplines. The Knight of Cups can also appear to indicate that the querent will soon succeed in the artistic industry.

The Knight of Cups deals with problems and issues by using empathy and emotional intelligence. He will see through you and over-intellectualism will not work well with such a knight. His intuition can be spot on and you would be well-advised not to hide anything from such a knight as he can be piercing in figuring out your true intentions. While the Knights haven’t quite mastered the emotional realm quite yet, they can still be wary of people who are emotionally all over the place.

With their ability to see into the heart of a situation, they will not appreciate someone who lacks poise and tact in the way that they deal with conflict. If you want to get what you want from them, you must exercise diplomacy for they do not deal with pushiness and bossiness too well. After all, theirs is a journey of the heart.

As a financial omen, the Knight of Cups indicates that your personal fortunes will soon begin to improve. If you’ve been having financial difficulties, it is time to reconnect with your heart and do what you love.

Life, is, ultimately, too short to live any other way.
