A man is focused with grave concern on a large hourglass. He begins rolling up his sleeves because he desperately wants to get back to work. He does not think he should be resting or idling away. Time for work, however, is not necessarily ripe or right. In life, delays are not only normal, but to be expected. In certain scenarios, if you choose to wait instead of rush, you will have the opportunity to connect with Spirit and with your higher aspirations.

In today’s world, where uncertainty reigns and we all feel, not only rushed, but also lost and confused, the firefly reminds us that we can always light up our own path with positivity. Sometimes there is nothing to do but wait for the right moment, the right person and the right opportunity to appear of its own accord. Forcing it, coercing it or pushing it may only push it away from you instead.

The firefly knows how to triumph over darkness. As such, it has come to represent the triumph of positivity over negativity and of light over dark. It is often the small and simple things in life that end up mattering the most. You don’t need to be ‘big’ or do something ‘big’ in order to bring light and joy into someone’s life.

Even creatures that are tiny and seemingly insignificant are created by God. When the firefly appears, it reminds us to be steadfast in our journey. We are not alone. Every little effort that we make eventually adds up and culminates in big and unimaginable triumphs. Your part matters and it counts.

Fireflies are known to be choosy about their choice of friends and partners. It is a reminder that we should endeavour to be in relationships and friendships where we can be true to ourselves. If the firefly has chosen you, it is an honour.

We can attract positive things into our life by shining our light and radiating positivity. Fireflies attract all that they need through their light. They give off a glowing trail that helps their mates to find them easily.

Fireflies flash their light to show that they would like to mate. The male emits his light as he looks for his partner. If a female happens to be flying around, she responds with a similar light so that they may engage in mating. Firefly comes to remind us of the significance and importance of darkness. If not for the dusk, fireflies would never be able to glow. Sometimes that spark of imagination can only come at night.

A firefly can herald the arrival of someone who may come to support and provide guidance when an individual is suffering emotionally and mentally. The firefly can be viewed as a symbol for the soul. The soul can not only wait, it also knows how to endure through the darkness. Fireflies are tenacious and do not give up easily. They possess the tenacity to persevere despite difficulty and opposition.

They are, indeed, a wonder of nature.
